Casio Watches

Casio was established in April 1946 by Tadao Kashio, an engineer specializing in fabrication technology. Kashio's first major product was the yubiwa pipe, a finger ring that would hold a cigarette, allowing the wearer to smoke the cigarette down to its nub while also leaving the wearer's hands free. Japan was impoverished immediately following World War II so cigarettes were valuable, and the invention was a success.
After seeing the electric calculators at the first Business Show in Ginza, Tokyo in 1949, Kashio and his younger brothers used their profits from the yubiwa pipe to develop their own calculators. Most of the calculators at that time worked using gears and could be operated by hand using a crank or using a motor (see adding machine). Kashio possessed some knowledge of electronics, and set out to make a calculator using solenoids. The desk-sized calculator was finished in 1954 and was Japan's first electro-mechanical calculator. One of the central innovations of the calculator was its adoption of the 10-key number pad; at that time other calculators were using a "full keypad", which meant that each place in the number (1s, 10s, 100s, etc...) had nine keys. Another innovation was the use of a single display window instead of the three display windows (one for each argument and one for the answer) used in other calculators.
In 1957 Casio released the Model 14-A, sold for 485,000 yen,[2] the world's first all-electric compact calculator, which was based on relay technology. 1957 also marked the establishment of Casio Computer Co. Ltd.
In the 1980s, its budget electronic instruments and home keyboards gained huge popularity. The company also became well known for the wide variety and innovation of its wristwatches. It was one of the earliest manufacturers of quartz crystal watches, both digital and analog. It also began selling calculator watches during this time. It was one of the first manufacturers of watches that could display the time in many different time zones and of watches with temperature, atmospheric-pressure, altitude, and even GPS position displays.
A number of notable digital cameras firsts have been made by Casio, including the first consumer digital camera with an LCD screen, the first consumer 3 megapixel camera, the first true ultra-compact model, and the first digital camera to incorporate ceramic lens technology.

Why Anticlockwise?

Take a look at the spinning girl below. Do you see it spinning clockwise or counter-clockwise? I see it spinning counter-clockwise, and I had a hard time getting it to switch direction. Give it a try.
These kinds of optical illusions are always fun. What they reveal is how our brain processes visual information in order to create a visual model of the world. The visual system evolved to make certain assumptions that are almost always right (like, if something is smaller is it likely farther away). But these assumptions can be exploited to created a false visual construction, or an optical illusion.
The spinning girl is a form of the more general spinning silhouette illusion. The image is not objectively “spinning” in one direction or the other. It is a two-dimensional image that is simply shifting back and forth. But our brains did not evolve to interpret two-dimensional representations of the world but the actual three-dimensional world. So our visual processing assumes we are looking at a 3-D image and is uses clues to interpret it as such. Or, without adequate clues it may just arbitrarily decide a best fit – spinning clockwise or counterclockwise. And once this fit is chosen, the illusion is complete – we see a 3-D spinning image.
By looking around the image, focusing on the shadow or some other part, you may force your visual system to reconstruct the image and it may choose the opposite direction, and suddenly the image will spin in the opposite direction.
This news article, like many others, ignores the true source of this optical illusion and instead claims it is a quick test to see if you use more of your right brain or left brain. This is utter nonsense, but the “right-brain/left brain” thing is in the public consciousness and won’t be going away anytime soon. Sure, we have two hemispheres that operate fine independently and have different abilities, but they are massively interconnected and work together as a seamless whole (providing you have never had surgery to cut your corpus callosum).
We also do have hemispheric dominance, but that determines mostly your handedness and the probability of language being on the right or the left. There is also often asymmetry for memory, with some being right or left hemisphere dominant. But none of this means that your personality or abilities are more right brain or left brain. That much is nonsense.

The right movement

 ANTICLOCKWISE MOVEMENT

The right movement is a condition, where the energy existance is equals to the balanced universe energy, which suppose to bring harmonize balance to the body system through its usage. Being energized by low wave frequency, it increases the body senses and builds self-capability towards the 'right' characteristic, which means goodness. Everything towards the goodness starts with the right movement; planets movement, tawaf at Kaabah, atom's movement, blood's circulation in the body etc are parts of the universe movement, which reach the equilibrium.

Food digesting system has to go through left law procedure to create energy. But when the energy is formed, it will make the right movement immediately. The same thing happen to all the senses which involves the third eye sense, which detects and analyses energy from external concept and is actually doing right vibration receiving principle.

Anti-clockwise or to the right concept is actually a natural movement, such as blood circulation circulates the blood from the heart's left side to the right and back to the left.
and many more

The right movement clock will change the perception of the wearer to put things under control, help to lighten the sickness and acts as a prevention to the polluted radiation disturbance. Not only that, there are still many other usages.

"This right moving clock could function as the natural balancing for every second to fulfill the basic energy's law which has happened since the creation of the universe and human existence.

"Anything with energy will make a movement according to its law. The basic law of movement is moving from the left to the right. So, do everything by starting it from the right.

Good Quality Pashmina!

Do You Prefer Online Shopping?

I was looking forward to celebrating President's Day weekend with a patriotic act: Shopping (you know, economy-boosting and all that). Unfortunately, so was everyone else, which made my normally relaxing and fun pastime a huge hassle.

Perusing the online shops was fabulous and what I'd wanted from my physical experience that day — I got the items I was looking for put right in front of me, no one pushed and poked by me, and checkout was fast and easy.

It really made me think that for me online shopping is way better and more convenient, and makes me la-la-love the Internet even more. What about you?

What Do Women Consider The Perfect Handbag?

Your Handbag, although an accessory to your wardrobe, is not usually separately rewarded with compliments. But, when someone recognizes your handbag for the maker and perhaps owns one, that's a good thing.

A woman's opinion would be quite different, however it is startling at how ugly today's more fashionable handbags are. For instance, if brown is your color, you might choose the muddy brown colored Louis Vuitton Handbag with the clip-art style emblems in a check pattern and everyone wants one. If a lighter version of brown checks suit you then the equally popular looking tan Burberry Handbag might suite you better.

Whether men "cringe" at the sight of some of them, and women "adore" them, surely the design cannot account for their immense popularity.

If a bag is attractive it can make you feel wonderful but it's all about proportion, shape, line, finish, fabric, and balance. If it is all of these it will sell.

Fake or real, "it's like you've got to have it or you'll die." The perfect Handbag is more important, even more than shoes, to accessorize a woman's wardrobe. Handbags are most closely tied to a woman's rousing persona than another other piece of fashion.
It expresses what group you want to be considered a part of although you start your own group.

Woman of today don't fit into the mass marketing of the past. Compared to a woman's experience online, she can choose how her screen appears, what her username tells, her photos portray, and literally build a virtual sort of identity. Women are distinctive and each hold vibrant, unique personalities. Woman will agree it's tough to stand out and fit in all at once. So perhaps there is an avenue for both - Perhaps it is symbolized in the Perfect Handbag.

One last thing, "is it real or is it fake?" There is a difference between handbags that are obviously not an original. For example, there are the designer fakes that have initials almost exactly mimicking a genuine designer, and a purse that has different initials but a similar design. Usually, the inferior craftsmanship in a knockoff designer bag consists of puckered seams, low quality leather, and large and uneven stitching. Another giveaway for fakes is the price. A real Louis Vuitton handbag sell for about $500.00 to $1,000.00 and a knockoff can be purchased for around $100.00 to $200.00 each. And you can bet that if you buy your purse out of the trunk of a car, you can pretty much bet it's not real!

Pashmina on Sale!!!

DSC05704.jpg picture by aminfuad
RM 18 each

The Pashima Story

Pashmina, from the Persian word for wool, is popularly known in the west as cashmere wool, from the old spelling of Kashmir.
The fine wool comes from the undercoat of Himalayan mountain sheep, raised by semi-nomadic herders.
It yields 3-8 ounces of fiber per year.  The Tibetan plateau provides the ideal for environment growth.

The fiber is exceptionally absorbent, and it dyes very easily and deeply. In recent years, pashmina shawl has been in fashion all over the world for its luxurious rarity, its incomparable softness warmth and durability.

CARE FOR PASHMINA

Pashmina gets softer with frequent use. Cleaning pashmina is easy. Although dry-cleaning Pashminas, the chemicals used in long run effect it. We thus recommend washing in cold or warm water using mild, natural soap or shampoo. Rinse until water runs clear and then drip dry only.

Do not wring or twist. If it needs pressing, iron over a damp of cloth.

Online Shopping is What Women Want

Online shopping might not make the most intriguing premise for a romantic comedy, but if Mel Gibson's character in "What Women Want" could read women's minds today, he'd find online shopping near the top of their list.

jj-winter-fringe-suede-bag.jpg picture by aminfuad

Call it nature, call it nurture, call it the urge to splurge; but shopping has translated easily for women into the digital age. Just behind social media and messaging, retail garners the fourth largest percentage of women's digital lives. Of those 25 hours a month spent online, an average of 70 minutes is dedicated solely to shopping therapy.

The report proves online retail is a bona fide cultural norm in North America these days, with 85 percent of women using the Internet to research, compare and buy everything from handbags to video games. Not only do ladies spend a whopping 20-percent more time than dudes browsing online retail sites, in the U.S. they account for 58 percent of dollars spent.

The hottest online markets are also those considered traditionally female. Comparison shopping and apparel sites are the two most popular places, each culling visits from 25 percent of all women online. In fact, with the exception of man-cave items like computers, electronics and outdoor equipment, women outspend men in every major retail category: Yes, even the aforementioned video games and consoles, though the researchers mention these are likely purchased for children -- or child-like husbands.

What, then, does this all mean for online shopping trends?

SHOPPING AS THERAPY

"Certainly, we're all aware of how shopping means different things to different people at different times," writes author Paco Underhill in his book, Why We Buy: The Science of Shopping.
Underhill is a unique researcher who, for almost 20 years, has used the tools of the anthropologist to study people in retail environments. "We use shopping as therapy, reward, bribery, pastime, as an excuse to get out of the house, as a way to troll for potential loved ones, as entertainment, as a form of education or even worship, as a way to kill time," he says. As Underhill's studies have made clear, shopping meets a variety of needs.
"I love to take my favorite catalogs, after they arrive in the mail, and curl up in bed for an hour or two before I go to sleep. I turn down pages with items I like on them, imagining what it would be like to own them," says one woman from Rochester, New York.
"Buying stuff for the grandchildren gives me a new lease on life," says a grandmother in Fairfax, Virginia.
"I remember going to the local variety store with my mom. She would buy stuff we didn't really need, little things...a little reward system against the annoyances/disturbances of life," recalls a keenly perceptive daughter.
Shopping Lifts Spirits
Whatever the motivator, shopping, in contrast to buying, lifts our spirits. It makes us feel better about ourselves and our place in the universe. It is a form of therapy. It is good to occasionally reward or affirm yourself with a purchase. Shopping is an easy way to assert self-worth, one of the simplest ways, says Judith Mueller, executive director of the internationally known resource, The Women's Center in Vienna, Virginia.
A classic example is the purchase of bath salts and perfumed oils, the ingredients of a personally pampering and perhaps luxurious spa experience. It takes some thought. It's affordable and there is an investment of time, Mueller explains. All the steps are important.

Why Women Loves Shopping, Why Men Hate it

You see it in every shopping mall: men sitting outside the clothing store waiting for the wife to come out. Why is it that women love to try on every pair of shoes before deciding whether to buy anything at all, and men want to get out of the mall seconds after they get in?

Women, by contrast, were the primary gatherers in early hunter-gatherer cultures, so they feel a need to check every berry on the bush to make sure they're getting the best deal.
That's why, during this holiday season, you're likely to see a lot of men cooling their heels, and a lot of women shopping until they drop. It's mandated (or should we say human-dated) by the evolutionary progress that guided us out of the woods and into the mall.
There was, however, one area where the data did not entirely support the hypothesis. The men didn't really think they were out for the kill when asked about shopping. Apparently, there's a lot of difference between the Serengeti and the shopping mall.

Data strongly supported the idea that modern women use skills dating back to their days as gatherers while on shopping expeditions. And men really are still on the hunt. All these centuries later, he adds, that difference persists. Not always, of course. Some men love shopping, and some women hate it, he noted, but the masses generally conform to his expectations.

Pashmina Scarf

How to Wear a Pashmina Scarf

A pashmina is not your typical scarf. It's not like a winter scarf, which tends to be long and thick. It's also not like smaller fashion scarves, which you can jauntily tie around your neck. Pashminas are wider than scarves and are almost shawl-like. This gives you plenty of room with which to work your fashion magic.
Try these ways to wear a pashmina:
  • Neck knot: This pashmina variation is perfect for sporting over a simple sheath dress (with or without a jacket) or with a casual ensemble such as khakis and a denim jacket. Fold it in half lengthwise, then fold it widthwise. Drape it around your neck, create a big loop and pull one end through.
  • The wide belt: Wear a pashmina loosely around your hips, allowing the ends to gracefully fall. They don't need to be even with one another. A pashmina in a contrasting color to your dress or slacks will give your ensemble added interest, so consider a cream pashmina over black or gray. You can also opt for a more classic, monochrome look - for example, a tan pashmina over beige slacks is a soft, muted color combo.
  • Simple shawl: Either drape the fully open pashmina around your body, back to front, or drape it over your shoulders and loosely tie it at your torso. This works just as well with dresses as it does with a dressy pair of jeans and heels.
  • Two at once: Also known as the Hollywood-style, this method involves wearing two pashminas at once. It's typically done with pashminas of different colors. Loosely intertwine your pashminas by twisting them around one another. Casually drape them around your neck, leaving one end in front and the other end falling behind you.
